Audemars Piguet recently invited several of its VIPs to an afternoon session of golf with its golfing ambassador Rory McIlroy at the Shek O Golf and Country Club, Hong Kong. The day's play was followed by a dinner, where guests were joined by another one of the brand's golf ambassadors, Darren Clarke.

Currently ranked eleventh in the world, McIlroy shared some of his tips with the guest golfers who participated in ‘best gross’ and ‘best nett’ driving competitions. During the dinner, prizes were presented to Michael Rasborn and David Lee respectively.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Jay-Z 10th Anniversary Limited Edition series will consist of 100 timepieces sold exclusively at the Company’s U.S. flagship boutique in New York City.

Three versions were made available as follows: 50 stainless steel ($23,500), 30 rose gold ($43,900), and 20 platinum ($69,500). Each timepiece will be engraved on the back with “Royal Oak Offshore Jay-Z 10th Anniversary” around the top and “Limited Edition” around the bottom finished off with Jay-Z’s signature on the case back’s center. Further distinguishing the Jay-Z 10th Anniversary Limited Edition from other models in the iconic Offshore series will be that the number 10 on the watch dial will be set in diamonds. Completing the overall look, platinum models will have royal blue crocodile straps while both the stainless steel and rose gold models will have elegant black crocodile straps.

What a special watch ! All the details are very classic but when you gather them, you get a quite original timepiece.

Obviously, the point we notice at first glance is the cushion shape of the case. The platinum case is large (43mm) and due to its shape and its thinness it appears to be even larger than it is actually.

The second detail you quickly notice is the beautiful hands. We call them in french: "aiguilles cathedrale". They give a "vintage" atmosphere to the Audemars Piguet watch.

Even if there is no second hand, the purety of the dial makes it very attractive.

The caliber used, due to the will to get a thin and slender watch is the AP 2120 (version of the JLC caliber used in the Jumbo without the date wheel). It is an almost perfect caliber for this watch due to its delicacy. Trouble is that it is a bit too small for the watch. You don't feel it when you watch the dial, you see it when you turn the watch over.

The Audemars Piguet watch has a strong presence on the wrist... but maybe a bit too much.

Anyway, this Tradition is a beautiful and attractive watch.

The Audemars Piguet Tradition Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater watch commemorates a cushion-shaped pocket watch introduced back in 1923. Inspired by the unique pocket watch, the new Audemars Piguet watch has successfully united two remarkable complications – the perpetual calendar and minute repeater.

The case of the Audemars Piguet watch measures 39mm in diameter and is crafted in 18K white gold or platinum. It immediately catches the glance by its brushed broad bezel creating a nice contrast with the polished case flanks and lugs.

As for the dial, it demonstrates an opaline vertical satin-brushed finish. It is completed with perfectly finished "Cathedrale" hands and Breguet-style Arabic numerals in pink gold. The pointers for small seconds, day, date, month, and leap year are crafted in blued steel.

The zest of the timepiece dial is a cutout at 9 o'clock for a classical moon phase indicator that reflects the motions of the Moon through a 29 1/2 day cycle.
