Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Grande Sonnerie Dynamograph watch

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Grande Sonnerie Dynamograph watch is an extraordinary achievement of horological mastery as well as superb traditional watchmaking knowledge and craftsmanship. A testament to the expertise of Audemars Piguet in the realm of great watchmaking complications, this extraordinary timepiece takes the celebrated complication of the repeater to its ultimate level. The manually wound movement, constructed by Audemars Piguet and their famed movement specialist Renaud et Papi, contains well over 400 individually hand-finished pieces.

This phenomenal mousetrap of wheels, pinions, racks, snails, and springs offers first of all, a minute repeater, which can be activated on request to chime the hours, quarter hours, and individual minutes; unlike most repeaters however, which indicate quarter hours with a two-gong high/low chime, the Sonnerie movement has a three-gong carillon chime, which offers both additional complexity, as well as a remarkably beautiful and distinctive quarter-hour chime. In addition to the minute repeater, the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Grande Sonnerie watch offers both big and little strike ("Grande et Petite Sonnerie") modes. This remarkable complication allows the watch to be set in such a way that hours and quarter hours are struck off automatically throughout each hour, (Grand mode), or to strike only the hours in passing (Petite mode). Since this complication demands so much energy to operate, the movement of this Audemars Piguet Grande Sonnerie watch features mainspring barrels dedicated to both the movement, and the strike works.

To ensure that this remarkable complication is not damaged should it be operated when too little power is available to the strike work, Audemars Piguet has developed both an indicator which shows the power-reserve remaining in the mainspring for the strike work, as well as a second indicator--called a Dynamograph---which indicates the curve of optimum torque which is ideal for the strike modes to be engaged for optimal performance. A small selector piece at the upper right hand corner also allows the watch to be set to "Silence" should the owner not desire the Sonnerie to sound. The craftsmanship which Audemars Piguet lavishes upon the movement of the Jules Audemars Grande Sonnerie Dynamograph watch is breathtaking, representing the finest in traditional haute de gamme techniques. Steel parts are individually drawn with a file, while bridges feature perlage on their bottom side, Cotes de Geneve on their topside, and anglage polishing on the edges. Screw and jewel settings are all countersunk and polished, while certain parts, such as the hammers of the striking mechanism display the luxurious specular polish. Purely functional components such as wheels and pinions are given no less careful scrutiny, resulting in a watch that is a true work of art in every respect.

Extremely limited in production, with only a few pieces produced each year, the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Grande Sonnerie Dynamograph watch presents its noble horlogical quality in an 18K white gold case. This graceful round case, a hallmark of all watches within the Jules Audemars Collection, features a sophisticated brushed finish, with highly polished elements on the bezel, and caselugs. The beautiful dial is a fine compliment to this classic, yet extremely complex timepiece, featuring a central section decorated with a Cotes de Geneve finish. A luxurious, remborded crocodile strap, complete with a white gold AP folding clasp completes this exceptional Audemars Piguet watch.

Audemars Piguet Tourbillon Power Reserve watch

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch is a beautiful timepiece that features the most prestigious complication in the repertoire of high watchmaking. Invented at the turn of the 19th century, the ingenious mechanism of the tourbillon has been long celebrated for its fascinating mechanics and intricate craftsmanship, so demanding of a skilled watchmaker.

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch is crafted from 18K pink gold or platinum, and displays a remarkable degree of attention to fine finishing detail, with brushed and polished surfaces providing a delight for both sight and touch. A unique detail of this watch is its beautiful caseback, which displays the Audemars family crest surrounded by an exquisite hand-engraved guilloche patterns. The winding crown of this watch is also elegantly placed on the back of the timepiece, producing a svelte case profile, devoid of any projections. This fine Audemars Piguet timepiece is animated by a selfwinding movement developed exclusively by Audemars Piguet.

With a power-reserve of approximately 55 hours, this movement offers a pointer-type date display, and an indicator that shows the remaining power-reserve of the mainspring barrel. The tourbillon device, displayed through an aperture on the dial, completes a single revolution each minute, bearing the screw-adjustable balance wheel and the components of the escapement. The distinctive dial of the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars tourbillon watch is offered in two versions, a deep blue for the platinum model, and brushed silver for the pink gold model. The solid gold hour and minute hands are coated with luminous material. Each Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch is completed by a fine, fully remborded crocodile strap and an elegant AP folding clasp in 18K gold or platinum.

Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Minute Repeater Tourbillon watch

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Minute Repeater Tourbillon watch is a classically beautiful timepiece that presents two extraordinary high complications. With this timepiece, the engineers and watchmakers at Audemars Piguet present a technically fascinating twist upon the minute repeater--one of the most celebrated complications in the realm of haute horlogerie. Since its founding in 1875, the house of Audemars Piguet has specialized in the most elite watchmaking specialities, including perpetual calendars, striking watches, and those timepieces which combine multiple complications.

Traditional minute repeaters, of which Audemars Piguet has produced many extraordinary examples, feature an immensely complex mechanism of snails, racks, and springs which are able to translate the position of the hands on the dial, into a precise symphony of chimes. Typical minute repeater watches sound out the hours, then the quarter hours, and finally, individual minutes. However, the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Decimal Minute Repeater offers something different; with this timepiece, the quarter hour (15 minute) interval is replaced by a chime that indicates 10-minute intervals instead. (Thus, for example, at 7:45, one will hear 7 low notes, 4 high-low combination tones, and 5 individual high notes).

The manually-wound 2882 Caliber movement which animates the extraordinary Jules Audemars Minute repeater watch was developed by Audemars Piguet and their famed integral complications specialist, Renaud and Papi. In addition to its unique striking complication, this timepiece also incorporates a tourbillon, which is displayed proudly through the aperture in the dial; bearing the balance wheel and the escapement across a polished steel bridge, the tourbillon cage completes a single revolution each minute. To ensure that the beauty of this mechanism matches its fabulous mechanical function, Audemars Piguet has refined each movement to the highest degree of haute de gamme standards; settings for jewels and screws are all individually counter-sunk and polished, bridges are lavished with hand-applied Cotes de Geneve patterns, and all steel components are drawn with a file and patiently chamfered according to the technique known as "anglage". The hammers of the repeater, which have been a given a lustrous specular polish, precisely strike the gongs each time the slide-lever on the side of the case is activated, the chimes perfectly tuned and clear thanks to meticulous adjustment, as well as the acoustic design of the interior of the case.

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Minute Repeater Tourbillon watch is produced in 18K pink gold. In addition to this classical material, Audemars Piguet is also presenting the watch in titanium, a material chosen by Audemars Piguet for its outstanding acoustic properties; indeed, of all the materials from which the case of a striking watch may be made, titanium offers the greatest volume of sound. Each variant of the remarkable Audemars Piguet Decimal Minute Repeater Tourbillon watch will be limited to a series of only 10 pieces in each metal; the timepiece features a strikingly beautiful dial which displays a radiating guilloche pattern, and leaf hands wrought from polished gold. A fine, fully remborded crocodile strap completes these timepieces, joining to the wrist with an elegant clasp shaped in the form of the Audemars Piguet initials.

Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Skeleton Tourbillon watch

The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Skeleton Tourbillon watch is a superb luxury timepiece that reveals the full glory of high watchmaking's most celebrated complication. Invented at the turn of the 18th century the ingenious tourbillon complication has been celebrated equally for its ingenious technical brilliance and the challenge it presents to the gifted, highly skilled watchmaker---the type of challenge relished by Audemars Piguet since 1875.

The manually wound movement inside the Edward Piguet Skeleton Tourbillon watch is a true masterpiece of haute de gamme craftsmanship, not only because of its fine tourbillon complication, but also due to its beautiful skeletonized bridge structure. The 2881 caliber movement has been reduced to its minimum to support the structure of the mechanism, allowing a deep view into the watch's heart. Additionally, the bridges have been elaborated with fine engraved patterns, and plated with pink gold.

The tourbillon device, which completes a revolution each minute, is mounted on a finely-polished steel bridge, and features a screw-weighted balance wheel and a Breguet overcoil hairspring. Additional technical features of note in this fine Audemars Piguet movement include a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and exceptionally fine finish quality on the bridges, and screw, and jewel settings.

The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Skeleton Tourbillon watch is produced in a stunning rectangular case crafted from 18K pink gold or platinum. Both extravagant and extremely elegant, this case, inherent to all watches within the Edward Piguet collection, displays a remarkable contrast between brushed and polished surfaces, as well as a distinct subtle curved profile, which also involves the sapphire crystal. Elegant black-oxidized gold leaf hands complete this stately timepiece, and harmonize perfectly with the Breguet-style numerals. The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Skeleton Tourbillon watch is completed by a fine, remborded crocodile strap and a pink gold folding clasp whose shape is that of the Audemars Piguet initials.

Audemars Piguet Ladies' Jules Audemars Chronograph watches

The Audemars Piguet Ladies' Jules Audemars Chronograph watches are beautiful timepieces which offer a classical design enlivened with some contemporary elements, opulently set off with the sparkle of exquisite diamonds. Ideal for women who desire a watch which is both a striking accessory and an extraordinary example of fine watchmaking, these Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Chronograph watches represent the high art of high watchmaking, which Audemars Piguet has carefully cultivated since its founding in 1875. This fine chronograph timepiece is offered in two versions--18K white gold, with a pink dial and diamond-set bezel, and in 18K yellow gold, with a white dial, and a case and bezel which are pave-set with 300 diamonds. The dials of both watches feature a distinctive horizontal and vertical line pattern, which curves outward towards the edges of the dial, and bold Arabic hour markers and skeletonized hands, crafted from 18K white or yellow gold, according to the model.

The Audemars Piguet Ladies' Jules Audemars Chronograph watch is animated by the 2226/2840 Caliber. This fine selfwinding movement, based upon the excellent Jaeger-LeCoultre 889, offers a chronograph function, as well as subsidiary seconds. This movement has been thoroughly refined by Audemars Piguet, with bridges demonstrating Cotes de Geneve patterns and anglage polishing.

The central winding rotor, which operates bi-directionally, is also decorated with Cotes de Geneve, and is equipped with a 21K gold mass--a fine detail which adds mass to the rotor for optimum winding efficiency. The Audemars Piguet Ladies' Jules Audemars Chronograph watch is completed by a fine matching crocodile strap (white for the yellow gold model, and pink for the white gold one) that has an 18K gold folding clasp, elegantly shaped like the Audemars Piguet initials.

Audemars Piguet Ladies' Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch

The Audemars Piguet Ladies' Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch is a stunning high luxury timepiece that will be cherished by women who are passionate about truly exceptional watchmaking. Within a striking 39mm 18K gold case, whose bezel has been accented with 56 full-cut diamonds, lies a mechanism of extraordinary beauty and complexity.

The Audemars Piguet Ladies' Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch is animated by an extraordinary manually wound movement, the Audemars Piguet 2906 Caliber. Visible through the exhibition sapphire caseback, this mechanism reveals exceptional detail to finish in the most minute of details. The intricately shaped bridges reveal a unique decorative pattern that is unique to this model, consisting of spiral motifs which radiate outward from jewel and screw-settings; additionally, the edges of each bridge sparkle with the traditional beveling technique known as "anglage". The settings for each jewel and screw are counter-sunk and beveled, and each individual screw is polished numerous times for a stunning finish. The centerpiece of the movement, the tourbillon complication, completes a single revolution each minute, bearing the balance wheel and escapement inside its finely finished cage, which displays flawlessly finished steel parts whose edges have been entirely chamfered by hand. Additional technical features of note for this very exclusive movement include a lengthy power reserve of approximately 78 hours, and a screw-adjustable balance wheel equipped with a traditionally desirable Breguet overcoil hairspring.

The Audemars Piguet Ladies Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch is equally appealing in the external details. The round Jules Audemars case, crafted from 18K gold, features a painstaking brushed finish on the case sides, which is elegantly contrasted by lugs which display a highly lustrous polish. The fine mother of pearl dials of these Audemars Piguet timepieces demonstrate an intricate guilloche pattern, as well as brilliant-cut diamond hour markers. Audemars Piguet is offering the Ladies' Jules Audemars Tourbillon watch in both white and pink gold versions, the former with a blue crocodile strap, and the latter with a white one. Both watches feature deployant clasps which are shaped in the form of the elegant Audemars Piguet initials, and are set with an additional 28 diamonds. A certificate which accompanies the watch attests to the total carat weight and quality of the diamonds on this timepiece, which are "Top Wesselton", and have a clarity grading of Internally Flawless (IF). The production of this exquisite work of horological art is limited to only a few pieces each year.

Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Equation of Time watch

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Equation of Time watch presents a unique display of complex information. The perpetual calendar mechanism indicates day of the week, date, month, proper leap year, and phases of the moon; this complication automatically switches the date according to the various lengths of months, and accounts for changes in the month of February due to leap years. Audemars Piguet produces the Equation of Time watch to order, with cams and and a bezel that are mechanically programmed to the specific location of the client; with this done, time of sunrise and sunset in a given location are accurately displayed, as well as the equation of time---the difference between true solar time (as a sundial depicts), and mean solar time (the average represented by a 24-hour day). These two values coincide only four times annually, the rest of the year varying between anywhere from -16 to +15 minutes; thus the serpentine sun-tipped hand, indicates this mathematical difference.

Thanks to the unique calibrated bezels, which are location specific, the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Equation of Time watch also shows the exact time of solar culmination--the period when the sun is at its highest point. The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Equation of Time watch is animated by a complex and extremely refined selfwinding movement, the 2120/2808 caliber. The movement base for this watch is a haute horlogerie legend, having debuted in 1967, at which time it was the thinnest central-rotor automatic movement ever produced. Equipped with a ruby-roller borne ring which supports the rotor mass, and a unique bi-directional winding system that disengages during hand-winding to prevent additional wear, this movement still garners acclaim for its ultra-thin height, and extremely refined details. In all, the 2120/2808 caliber comprises 423 components, each of which has been refined by hand. A glance through the exhibition sapphire caseback reveals the beautiful movement, which glitters with Cotes de Geneve, anglage, and perlage decorations, as well as counter-sunk and polished jewel and screw settings. The rotor has been relieved of all excess material, to showcase the AP initials, and the intricate framework displays fine floral engravings; a massive 21K gold segment on the outer rim facilitates optimal winding motion.

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Equation of Time watch is crafted exclusively in 18K pink gold, 18K white gold, or 18K yellow gold. These stunning cases, which demonstrate an intricate and sensual combination of brushed and polished finishes, characterize the Jules Audemars watch collection, and for this timepiece, measure 43mm in diameter. The beautiful dial of the Equation of Time watch, produced by Audemars Piguet in black for the pink gold watch, and silver for the yellow and white gold versions, display an intricate guilloche pattern and classical details such as Roman numerals and leaf hands wrought from solid gold. Each of these complex Audemars Piguet timepieces are complemented by a luxurious crocodile strap and an elegant 18K gold folding clasp.

Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Reserve de Marche watch

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Reserve de Marche watch is an impeccably crafted classic timepiece. Offered exclusively in 18K white gold or 18K pink gold, this graceful dress timepiece embodies the Manufacture elegance of Audemars Piguet, housing a beautifully crafted manual-wind movement.

The heart of the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Hand-wound Reserve de Marche watch is the Audemars Piguet 3090 Caliber. Designed and manufactured exclusively by Audemars Piguet, the Caliber 3090 utilizes a full balance bridge, for optimum stability; affixed to this bridge is the exclusive free-sprung Gyromax balance, which beats at a rate of 19,800 vibrations per hour. The attractive contours of this movements architecture can be admired through the exhibition sapphire caseback; the bridges display fine Cotes de Geneve patterns, and beveled edges, while the nickel-plated, polished steel screws and synthetic ruby jewels sit in countersunk and beveled settings. This movement also offers two small complications--a pointer-type date display, settable via a corrector on the side of the caseband, and also a reserve de marche indicator, which shows the status of the watch's approximately 48-hour power reserve.

The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Hand-wound Reserve de Marche watch is presented in an elegant 36mm round case, which is distinctive due to its complex contrasts between brushed and polished elements. This classical case perfectly frames the elegant silver dial, which features a shimmering Cotes de Geneve center section and Roman numerals and leaf-shaped hands which are crafted from gold. A fine crocodile-skin strap completes this fine dress watch, accompanied by a beautiful 18K gold folding clasp whose blades are in the shape of the Audemars Piguet initials.

Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Chronograph 18K pink gold watch

The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Chronograph watch is a stunning high luxury timepiece with impressive visual presence, and a finely crafted selfwinding movement. The striking rectangular case of this watch pays respects to Edward Piguet, who co-founded the house of Audemars Piguet in 1875. Crafted from 18K pink or white gold, it recalls the glamorous elegance of the Art Deco era, and demonstrates sublime finishing contrasts between brushed and polished surfaces; the gently arched bezel frames the shaped sapphire crystal flawlessly, accentuating the richly detailed dials, which are offered in two distinctive renditions.

The movement of this Audemars Piguet timepiece is truly outstanding, offering both lavish haute horlogerie finishing, and a sophisticated chronograph mechanism. The AP 2385 Caliber, based upon the celebrated, slender Frederic Piguet 1185 movement, offers a chronograph mechanism governed by a column-wheel; thanks to a vertical clutch mechanism, the various sequences of the chronograph operation are extraordinarily smooth, with minimal potential for backlash from the chronograph central seconds hand. This fine caliber has been extensively decorated by the skilled Audemars Piguet watchmakers, and its massive central rotor is crafted entirely from 21-K gold, both to highlight its exclusive craftsmanship, as well as provide optimal mass for efficient winding. With a fully-wound power reserve of approximately 40 hours, this caliber also supports a rapidly adjustable date display, and a continuously running indication of subsidiary seconds.

The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Chronograph watch is available with a dressy, extremely classic dial which displays a beautiful serpentine-pattern guilloche texture and Breguet numerals and leaf-shaped hands, or a more contemporary alternative, which features bold Arabic numerals and sword-styled hands. These distinguished chronograph timepieces are completed by a crocodile strap and an elegant 18K gold AP folding clasp.

Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Perpetual Calendar watch

The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Perpetual Calendar watch is an opulent luxury timepiece that offers a classical high complication within an elegant rectangular form. Since its founding in 1875, Audemars Piguet has been celebrated for their mastery of complications, the perpetual calendar being a particular speciality of the house. The complex mechanism of this Audemars Piguet timepiece indicates day, date, month, leap year, and phases of the moon. Thanks to a highly specialized mechanism, the perpetual calendar accurately keeps track of the varying length of months, and also takes into account the variability of February throughout the four-year cycle.

The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Perpetual Calendar watch is animated by an exceptionally fine selfwinding movement, the AP 2120 Caliber. This legendary movement, created in its first form in 1967, represented the thinnest automatic winding movement with central-rotor produced up to that point. To this day, the 2120 caliber remains a benchmark in the haute horlogerie category, due to its unique constructive details, and great refinement. Audemars Piguet lavishes this fine movement with exquisite finishing, including perlage on the plates, and hand-applied cotes de geneve on the topsides of the plates; screw and jewel settings are all countersunk and beveled, and all edges are sensuously rounded using the traditional technique of anglage. The winding rotor has been relieved, and displays the Audemars Piguet initials, which have been engraved with elegant patterns.

Audemars Piguet offers the Edward Piguet Perpetual Calendar watch in both 18K white gold, and 18K pink gold; these elaborate rectangular cases exude Art Deco style, with extraordinary attention to minute detail; the contrast between brushed and polished finishes is the result of extensive hand finishing, and is a treat to the senses of both sight and touch. The Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Perpetual Calendar watches have elegant dials which feature an elaborate guilloche pattern and leaf-shaped hands and Breguet numerals crafted from solid gold; a fine crocodile strap with an elegant gold AP folding clasp secures the timepiece to the wrist.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Singapore Grand Prix Chronograph

The reference number for the Grand Prix is 26190OS.OO.D003CU.01.Limited Edition of 188 Pieces

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Singapore Grand Prix Chronograph was created to commemorate the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix. It will be the first F1 race held in that country as well as the only nighttime F1 event ever. The forged carbon used for the case was inspired by Formula 1 cars.

The Singapore Grand Prix Chronograph watch uses several unique materials. The central section of the case is wrought from forged carbon which has been used previously by Audemars Piguet before in watches such as the Team Alinghi Forged Carbon and Royal Oak Carbon Concept Tourbillon watch. The material is not only functional, but is lightweight and extremely hard. The carbon's look is altered by machining the surface creating a unique appearance that catches light producing a beautiful effect. The black carbon case middle is accented by stricking red chronograph push-pieces and a red rubber -clad crown. The look is pulled together with the perforated black leather strap with red stitching and a stainless steel folding clasp in the shape of the Audemars Piguet initials.

The watch features a self-winding Audemars Piguet Calibre 3126/3840 movement comprised of 365 components and has a power reserve up to 60 hours. The barrel spring improves rating precision by supplying constant force for a longer period of time. All parts are hand-decorated, mainplate rhodium-plated - beveled and circular grained and bridges adorned with "cotes de Geneve" motif.

With UV light present...

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Limited Edition for Chronopassion

Audemars Piguet has created a new Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, it is a titanium limited edition developed for a highly popular Paris-based retailer named Chronopassion located on the well known Rue St. Honore. The beautiful titanium case has a microbille bead-blasted - or sand blasted as we call it here in the states - finish, which creates a look of frosted metal. The surface of the octagonal Royal Oak bezel has a microbille bead-blasted finish as well, though the beveled edge is a high polish which is matched nicely by the polishing on the eight hexagonal bezel screws. The standard Royal Oak "Grand Tapisserie" waffle pattern dial features white gold Arabic markers and hands with a luminous treatment for easy readability, and a large magnified date window at 3 o'clock. Each timepiece has a black rubber strap and a microbille bead-blasted titanium folding clasp. The case back is engraved with "Limited Edition Chronopassion" and the limited edition number of the watch. The Chronopassion Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph is limited edition of 50 pieces.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Chronopassion Limited Edition uses the 3126/3840 caliber movement, a movement used in several of AP's limited Edition creations as of late - such as the Survivor and the Grand Prix models. Comprised of 365 carefully finished parts, the 3126/3840 has a rapid-adjust date display, stop seconds, and a chronograph complication with 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers and a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. It has a variable-inertia balance with eight masselotte weights, a fast date correction and a highly stable balance cock, as well as the massive 22-karat gold rotor that winds the mainspring in both of its directions of rotation. An anti-magnetic strongbox cage protects the caliber's precision against the negative effects of magnetic fields. It also has finely polished screw and jewel settings, a perlage on the plate and undersides of the bridges, and Cotes de Geneve finishing on the bridges.

Audemars Piguet John Schaeffer Tradition

The picture above is the Audemars Piguet John Schaeffer Tradition watch, the hours and minutes only version.

What a special watch ! All the details are very classic but when you gather them, you get a quite original timepiece.

Obviously, the point we notice at first glance is the cushion shape of the case. The platinum case is large (43mm) and due to its shape and its thinness it appears to be even larger than it is actually.

The second detail you quickly notice is the beautiful hands. We call them in french: "aiguilles cathedrale". They give a "vintage" atmosphere to the Audemars Piguet watch.

Even if there is no second hand, the purety of the dial makes it very attractive.

The caliber used, due to the will to get a thin and slender watch is the AP 2120 (version of the JLC caliber used in the Jumbo without the date wheel). It is an almost perfect caliber for this watch due to its delicacy. Trouble is that it is a bit too small for the watch. You don't feel it when you watch the dial, you see it when you turn the watch over.

The Audemars Piguet watch has a strong presence on the wrist... but maybe a bit too much.

Anyway, this Tradition is a beautiful and attractive watch.

Audemars Piguet Millenary Carbon One Tourbillon Chronograph

Audemars Piguet pioneered the use of forged carbon in timepiece design and production, inspired by the use of the material in the highly competitive world of world class yacht racing. The world's first forged carbon case was executed in the highly coveted and now iconic Alinghi Team All Carbon.

The calibre 2884 movement continues the three dimensional design motif, where innovative use of dial space and movement design allows the movement maven to enjoy an unparalleled view of the mechanical wonder inside even from the dialside. This approach was started several years ago by AP, beginning with the Tradition d'Excellence N°5,followed by the Millenary with deadbeat seconds, and carried on with the classic Jules Audemars Chronometer with Audemars Piguet escapement.
