Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Watch

First introduced in 1972, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch was worldwide appreciated in the watch-making branch as the first high-end sports watch; after 20 years the brand reintroduced an upgraded extreme-sports version of the initial model, unveiling thus the Royal Oak Offshore collection which has been a huge public success up to this day.

This year Audemars Piguet added new models to this collection and the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph watch we are presenting here is one of the variations which gained instant fans among the fine watches enthusiasts worldwide.

The Audemars Piguet watch case measuring 42 mm in diameter is manufactured either from stainless steel or titanium and it features extremely powerful design touches, its incorporated signature octagonal-bezel features hexagonal screws and rubber coated push pieces and crown. The case is magnetic-proof and it can provide 100 m water resistance. The timepiece is animated by the exclusive self-winding Caliber 3126/3840 which provides a generous 60 hours power reserve.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is available in two design options: the stainless steel, which features a silvered dial meanwhile, the titanium version, reveals an anthracite dial. Both watches have a robust bezel and they are fitted with the exclusive “Mega Tapestry” pattern, moreover the sporty design is carried on into the large black Arabic numerals. The models have tachymeter scale, small seconds counter and, located at 3 o’clock position, there is a large date window. As a special contrasting design is red seconds-hands.

The stainless steel model is available either with crocodile strap or stainless steel bracelet and the titanium model is completed by a bracelet manufactured from the same material or black crocodile leather strap.

Extremely stylish and sophisticated Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph watch is an amazing timepiece which exudes force and sportiness, and if we add to this precision and high-end finish we definitely obtain a collector’s item which available for an pretty exclusive price range between $ 22,467.00 for the stainless steel model and $24,387.00.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Carbon Concept Tourbillon

Here are a few shots of the new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Carbon Concept Tourbillon. The Audemars Piguet has a ceramic bezel and a tourbillon movement. Expect to pay much more for the Audemars Piguet name and the tourbillon movement.

The Audemars Piguet watch is ultra-lightweight and may become the first watch to feature a carbon case and movement. And the all carbon case is still very impressive. Audemars Piguet utilizes a pure carbon 384 part Calibre 2895 tourbillon chronograph movement. The bezel is ceramic, the crown features AP intials and the ring surrounding the caseback is secured by eight screws made of PVD blackened titanium.

The Audemars Piguet exclusive hand-wound 34-jewel tourbillon and chronograph movement features a twin-barrel system to provide an astounding 237-hour power reserve. The movement is carbon, while the central bridge is made of green eloxed aluminum. On the caseback there are black PVD coated bridges. The control coupling levers are black PVD-coated. The two power-reserve cones are covered in an amorphous carbon coating, which is the same on the inserts in the openworked zones at 6 and 12 o'clock. The tourbillon carriage is comprised of over 70 parts with a weight of just 0.45 grams and is treated to a two-tone black PVD and steel finish.

The dial of the Royal Oak Carbon Concept has luminescent hour-markers and white minute markers. It has an open luminescent central hour and minute hands. There is a power-indicator positioned at 12 o'clock. It also has a selection indicator at 6 o'clock, a central chronograph sweep seconds hand and a linear chronograph minute counter. The strap is made of hand-sewn alligator and has an AP folding titanium clasp.

This Audemars Piguet watch is beautiful and complicated and may become one of the first production watches to use pure carbon.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Survivor Chronograph Watch

This is either the weirdest or coolest Audemars Piguet watch around depends on your point of view. This is the $50,000 plus Royal Oak Offshore Survivor - a watch meant to look like it can survive the next 5 or so world wars - being worn by the heroes of battle. Conversely, this is the bad-ass watch that will help you in your fight against the Predator, or other such daring feats of Hollywood-esque escapades that you might encounter on a daily basis. At least you looking at the watch will make you feel as though can actually do these things.Otherwise it is just another well made watch. For the true experience, you'll want the fantasy that comes with it.

The watch is a testament of what the people at Audemars Piguet are willing to do, and is a shining force of modern hand-craftsmanship. Inside the watch is a manufacture Calibre 3126/3840 automatic mechanical chronograph movement, with a long 60 hour power reserve. The movement is highly complex having 59 jewels. The Audemars Piguet watch case it mostly blackened titanium while the grooved bezel is ceramic. Aside from the unique looking case with its cutout holes and grooved surfaces, the most striking visual features of the watch are the chronograph pusher protectors and the almost segmented hands that remind me of those almost cylindrical life preservers. It is one of those "I don't know if I like it, but I'd certainly wear it" type of watches. Know what I mean? Looking past all the decoration, the dial has has a tachymeter scale to be used with the chronograph, and the date. Despite everything that the watch has going on, The Audemars Piguet watch is still not too big at 42mm wide. Looking at it, you'd think it was 46-48mm, but that isn't the case (no pun intended!).

Only 1,000 of these watches are available and they all are sold out.The replica Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Survivor watches are available right now on progiftstore.com,with the highest quality and best price.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak OffShore Wempe Scuba Watch

This is an interesting limited edition watch that combines everything I like about diving themed watches and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak lines of watches. Bearing the name of "Wempe," a line of luxury watch stores strategically placed all over the world, this limited edition of 175 watches is rare and very cool. This watch was created in honor of Wempe's 100th anniversary. The iconic eight sided octagonal Royal Oak watch bezel was never the type of design that was good for a rotating bezel - so Audemars Piguet inserted an internal bezel that resolved the problem of not having a round bezel. The internal uni-directionally rotating bezel is operated via the crown positioned at 10 o'clock. The case is 44mm wide and steel. A rose gold version was also available, but was not as good a value costing 2-3 times the price of this version. I also feel that this is one of the purest modern versions of the Royal Oak watch based on the original Gerald Genta design classic from the 1970s. There is a lot of similarity between this watch and the Patek Philippe Aquanaut. This is to be expected as the Aquanaut is based on the Patek Philippe Nautilus - which was also designed by Gerald Genta in the 1970s.

The raised tile dial pattern has always looked good, and the simple rounded baton hands never looked more appropriate on a watch. Flip the Audemars Piguet watch over and check out the pirate ship engraved on the caseback. Well, maybe it isn't necessarily a pirate ship, it could just be a European galleon, but it sure could be a pirate ship. As this is a luxury watch the quality and finish is always top notch. Inside is an in-house Audemars Piguet calibre 2325 automatic mechanical movement. The date window utilizes a internal magnifier window as to keep the top of the sapphire crystal flat. The thick rubber strap has a matching Audemars Piguet signed deployment.

Although the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Wempe Scuba watch is sold out, there are many Audemars Piguet replica watches of this model on the internet. Among, progiftstore.com is a professional replica watches manufacturer, we provide you with a variety of Audemars Piguet replica watches and other Swiss replica watches, these replicas are sold at a great discount.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello II Watch

From a design standpoint I consider this watch to be the pre-cursor of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Survivor watch. Look at the watch and you will agree that this Rubens Barrichello II limited edition watch has design cues that made its way into the Surviror watch a few years late. These include the hands, dial design, light vertical texturing (see the strap links here) as well as the crown and pusher design. The pictured watch was part way "there" and then Audemars Piguet just went the distance with the Survivor. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello II watch was made in honor of the namesake Brazilian Formula 1 race car driver. For some reason Brazilian race car drivers seems to be the subject of many high end sport watches from not only Audemars Piguet, but also other brands such as Hublot and Richard Mille - can't say that I know why.

The Audemars Piguet watch was offered back in 2006 in three limited versions. 500 in 18k pink gold, 150 in 950 platinum, and 1000 in the pictured titanium. The bezel and pushers are done in black ceramic, another compound that made its way into the Audemars Piguet survivor watch. You can't tell here, but the caseback of the watch has an engraved F1 race car steering wheel. With its aggressive looks, the watch appears larger than it is. The case is 42mm wide. The dial of the watch is easy to read in clear Royal Oak Offshore tradition. Notice the different colored subdial hand colors for a cute touch (bright Brazilian flag colors at that). Also note how the dial is partially skeletonized with a view into the movement through the grated section in the middle that would normally display Audemars Piguet Mega Tapestry dial pattern. This is interesting as it is one of the earlier contemporary skeletonized watches - which in the last few years has become extremely popular among luxury sport (and otherwise) watches.

What is cool is that while the watch strap is leather, the inner strap is lined with alcantara leather - the famous 'non-slip' Italian leather made in just one factory that is popular on race car seats. These straps have always been comfortable and I would venture to say that this type of strap on a Royal Oak Offshore watch might even be an improvement. Notice that the strap on the available watch is perforated as well. Inside the watch is an in-house made Audemars Piguet calibre 2326/2840 automatic mechanical chronograph movement with a 38 hour power reserve. In my opinion this is of the most interesting and attractive limited edition Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watches out there. Often times AP will simply change a few colors or something like that. Here they really seemed to go the distance and give us something new and interesting. These watches are pretty rare right now.

The Audemars Piguet Millenary Watch: Worthy Competition For The Royal Oak

The Millenary Collection contains some of my favorite Audemars Piguet watches. Part of it is the wonderfully quirky charm of the distinctive horizontally oval case, and part of it is the beautiful workmanship and exquisite detailing these watches demonstrate.

Take a look at the incredible Millenary MC-12 Tourbillon watch–an incredible fusion of design and haute horlogerie, this platinum timepiece features a stunning tourbillon complication that employs some revolutionary materials in its construction. Less complicated, but no less fine is the basic Millenary Self-Winding watch, with their elegant, yet extremely expressive dials. The acclaimed, manufacture Audemars Piguet 3120 caliber movment is a major plus for this watch, as well. Might I add, this is by no means a complete listing–each timepiece in this line has its own charm.

Women have an equally tempting range of choices in this striking Audemars Piguet watch collection, as well. The Millenary ladies watches are some of the finest haute horlogerie available for sophisticated female connoisseurs, uniting brilliant mechanical artistry with the finesse and scintillating quality of fine jewelry.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak La Boutique NY: 1/150 Rare Watches Celebrating A New Address

Besides watches, what we reference most here is the great town, New York City. We love it, and so does Audemars Piguet. After all, they chose New York for their very first state-side boutique back in 2003. To commemorate the opening of this boutique they produced a limited edition watch (as is their MO), but this one we rather like.

Called the "La Boutique" Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph, it is essentially a completely blacked out version of their traditional Royal Oak, a watch we have a lot of love for. The case and pushers are covered in black PVD, the face is black with white dials, and it very much looks the part of a Royal Oak. The biggest difference, and what makes this watch so unique, is its case back. Engraved on the back of this Royal Oak is the entire facade of the Audemars Piguet boutique here in NY. Surrounding this image are the words "Audemars Piguet La Boutique New York 40 E 57th". Yes, the address of the AP boutique is actually engraved on the back on the watch, useful if you ever forget where you're going when you need service.

La Boutique Royal Oak comes on a black alligator strap with deployment clasp, and with a wooden presentation box that features the very same engravings as the caseback. There were only 150 of these Audemars Piguet watches made, so finding one for sale is quite rare. The original selling price for this piece was $13,900 back in 2003. Something tells us you'll have to fork over around the same to pick one up these days, if not a little more.

As lovers of Audemars Piguet and of New York, this is a watch we'd love to own someday. You don't see too many black Royal Oaks, and the fact that there are only 150 of these watches in the world make it even cooler. We just wish Hodinkee was around back in 2003 so we could've seen the boutique open.

Audemars Piguet Forged Carbon Royal Oak Offshore - Ladies Watch

Here is a great combo of sport and sexy from Audemars Piguet for the ladies. This is the female version of the Forged Carbon Royal Oak Offshore watch. The real difference is the smaller size (diameter 37mm for ladies) and the application of diamond on the ceramic bezel (32 brilliant cut diamonds to be exact). Do you like how they fit the stones in between the iconic hex screws? Aside from the bezel and rubber strap-to-case links, the watch is crafted in carbon via a special process that is totally unique to Audemars piguet. The carbon case is very light and hard - also more scratch resistant than you might think.

Style of the watch is interesting to say the least. The design is very masculine, but sporty. I can see this watch being worn by Angelina Jolie in an action movie (hence the sexy part). She did wear a mother of pearl dialed Tissot T-Touch in one of the Tomb Raider movies. Alternatively a hot Rambo-ess could brandish this Audemars piguet watch while blowing up “enemy combatants.” Truly a unique look that will be coveted by a few women, while the rest will turn their heads for more feminine and delicate designs.

While masculine the movement inside the watch is beautiful - though a bit hidden. It is the in-house made automatic Audemars Piguet calibre 2385 with a 12 hour chronograph, the time, and date. I like the layout of the dial in traditional Royal Oak Offshore fashion complete with the “Mega Tapestry” face pattern and lots of lume. Again, no girly aspects here - all hardcore function and manly style. You have to ask yourself again what type of women Audemars Piguet was aiming for here. Everything is top-notch Audemars Piguet quality here in this diamond decorated version of a sexy modern classic - with a carbon case.

History of Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

1972

A "vintage year" for Audemars Piguet and an historic one for the craft of watchmaking with the launch of the world's first luxury sports watch, the Royal Oak. Its octagonal shape, steel edges and the use of prominent hexagonal screws as a design feature strike a perfect balance between power and elegance. Worthy of its name, the Royal Oak has since become a legend.

Audemars Piguet's Success Story

Audemars Piguet watchmakers found themselves confronted with a new challenge: to reinterpret the classical watch for a new age. The solution they came up with is the refined heir to an aristocratic lineage: the peerless Royal Oak. Its octagonal design, originally produced only in high-grade steel, took the breath away even of many professionals. When the initial shock abated, some in the industry hinted that Audemars Piguet had taken a wrong turning. However, when the Royal Oak was unveiled at the 1972 European watchmaking fair in Basel with a price tag of just Sfr. 3,300 unheard of for a watch bearing the Audemars Piguet name its success was beyond even its creators' expectations!

The Legend Of The Royal Oak

The legend of the oak stretches back to the dawn of history, when man discovered the virtues of wood as a toolmaking material. The oak's structural strength was prefigured in the majesty of the tree itself. The oak has another, more recent association with majesty. In 1651 after the Battle of Worcester, King Charles the II of England, Scotland and Wales found refuge from pursuers in the hollow of an ancient oak. A "royal oak" indeed.

The name Royal Oak was adopted by the Royal Navy for a series of vessels of the line, in the days at the height of imperial glory when Britain "ruled the waves".

The ships naturally distinguished themselves, in the Napoleonic wars and in the great wars of this century. It is this ancient, royal and naval heritage of the name Royal Oak that inspired Audemars Piguet in the creation of a legendary watch. The porthole, that symbol of the high seas, was the starting point for this virile design. The choice of an octagonal form, with a bezel secured by hexagonal screws in white gold, followed naturally. And how does one turn a hexagonal screw, to drive it home? That is just one of the closely guarded trade secrets of the engineers and designers in Le Brassus.

The "rugged" look of this luxury sports watch is emphasized by the use of steel, satin-finished to highlight the quality of the Royal Oak's design. The bezel's rounded contours, somewhat soften the impact.

The Royal Oak is also distinctive as the first successful use of integrated design, for watch and bracelet. The octagonal porthole motif is echoed in the bracelet, with its hand-made links of progressively diminishing size.

1993

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Introduced in 1993 , water-resistant to depth of 100 metres and designed for extreme sports. Crafting Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore cases calls for more than 250 successive operations including all types of hand-made finish: bevelling, lapping, polishing, brushing, sandblasting and circular-graining. Initially introduced in steel, representing a revolution in the world of luxury watches, the cases of the Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore are currently made from a wide variety of metals, some of which originate from the latest research in the aeronautical and spatial industries.

Around its legendary octagonal dial, eight visible white gold screws hold together the bezel, the exclusive water-resistance gasket and the case-back and middle. The crown and pushpieces on the Royal Oak Offshore are protected by a rubber guard and the metal bracelets are assembled by hand.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore

Audemars Piguet recently released its Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Survivor Chronograph, its latest addition to the development of the extreme sports watch.

The goal of Audemars Piguet was to demonstrate the watch’s ability to perform in any number of hazardous environments, including urban sprawl. The Audemars Piguet watch had to offer exceptional legibility, functionality and precision – and it does.

Offering the same strongbox case that is a signature of the Royal Oak Offshore series and the Audemars Piguet calibre the latter two areas were a sure thing while luminous hour markers, skeleton hands and silver-colored small seconds counter ensure optimal readability, day and night.
